It's exciting to see the number of current projects which will densify Moncton's downtown area. Right now, it's a dead sea of empty parking lots, a "downtown" with an insanely low rate of residential units compared to similar-sized cities. Densification is necessary to stop Moncton from being the "drive-in" city that it is, instead of somewhere where people actually live.

Ça me hype de voir tous les projects actuels qui viennent densifier le centre-ville de Moncton. En ce moment, c'est un océan de stationnements vides, un "centre-ville" avec un pourcentage ridiculement bas de résidentiel en comparaison avec des villes similaires. La densitication est essentielle pour que Moncton cesse d'être une ville où la majorité des gens n'y vivent pas, mais ne font que y conduire.

One great aspect is that they now seem to be including parking within buildings, hopefully they can clear the parking ocean between main and assomption

What we need now is a bus system that actually gets you where you want to go instead of bringing everyone to Champlain Mall, and proper safe bicycle infrastructure.
