When working, I see that some people create a space for themselves by wearing headphones and listening to music so they don't get distracted.

Do you guys feel the same way and if so, what tracks or mixes are you recommending?

I usually listen to house & techno, jazz, ambient or instrumental music while working on the computer because there are no lyrics.

Absolutely, here are some good ones I've found. I don't like most of the weird-sounding lofi "work music" that's advertised as such on Youtube, but usually starting with something like these and letting it go through the related music yields a pretty good result:

Most things from Blue Turtle

Anything from Fat Freddy's Drop

I am a technical writer, and when I want background noise I have a playlist of music that sounds like the soundtracks to old sci-fi films. Stuff like Vangelis. I usually shuffle it.
