This community is still tiny compared to r/formula1, but it's growing at a good pace. We're getting lots of posts here.

Lemmy itself is a bit rough around the edges, but development has been accelerated by the influx of new users.

Sync for Lemmy is in development so a nice 3rd party app is on the way!

but it’s growing at a good pace

It grew 10 % just in the last 24 hours, it seems

Given that there were only 2-3 ppl sporadically posting before the reddit thing it’s picking up.

It seems pretty nice so far

Less bots, more level-headed people atm

[–] LurkerBelow 4 points 2 years ago

Haha, you just wait. I hope I'm wrong though!

I think the people complaining about how boring the race is, are still missing.

[–] MegaUmbreon 8 points 2 years ago

Platform is basically fine from a users POV, I see some people complaining about the lack of mod tools. One annoying thing is because different instances, there are at least 2 F1 communities. I've seen the diehards say it's by design etc etc but that doesn't stop it being annoying as a user.

Also it's much quieter, which is a blessing and a curse. More than zero people means it's at least active enough to be worth checking, but the size of /r/formula1 plus the voting system meant the top comments were usually pretty good, its more of a mixed bag here.

Hey Jeppe!!! Welcome, nice to have you here from r/formula1. In the same boat, I’m hoping this takes off, and I will try to post some content here to do my part.

What are you testing? Any mod tooling/bots/automation yet?

former f1 on reddit - missed you guys but this here are great ❤️

[–] _finger_ 7 points 2 years ago

It’s pretty groovy so far

I'm here from reddit too. Hoping to see the community transition over. Once RIF goes down I'll be off reddit for the most part.

Hey, I just saw the post on Reddit from the mod who quit, is that you?

Welcome! I'll miss the r/formula1 community, but this could become a new nice home.

I hadn't checked r/formula1 since the race, and both jeppe and Mulsanne are leaving. The sub is losing two great mods, I hope they both join lemmy.

It will grow over time. Spez hasn’t COMPLETELY killed Reddit yet so give it a few more weeks…

[–] Oneobi 1 points 2 years ago

Its amazing how he's managed to wreck his platform. Thought Elons destruction was impressive but Spez really went for it.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

Growing that's for sure, more so as the reddit debacle continues...

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

This will likely grow more once the third party apps die off and it Fuhrer Spez keeps driving people out.

The good thing with this debacle is that the lazy content consumers will stay there and the more tech-savvy will try and come over, making this feel like old reddit.

Just making a post here, first on Lemmy, that I'm also here as part of the exodus. Hopefully this can be our new home!

[–] CCXGT 5 points 2 years ago

Reminds me of Reddit 10 years ago. Good vibes.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

Nobody's reposting teams' Instagram stories or saying happy birthday to dead drivers yet, so pretty good!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

wasn't there. i'm here, hoping for an interesting place.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

came over from reddit to check this out.

[–] Finkler 4 points 2 years ago

Just fine so let's get the grid setup and go race :)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

quite good, it's a bit small and buggy, but it grows and gets better - it has a huge potential

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

pretty good, looking decent

[–] Protegee9850 3 points 2 years ago

Welcome! Thrilled you’ve made it over here. So far things are..good! I think Lemmy is great for these more niche and focused communities.
