In your profile settings there is a "Default listing type" option, there you can change it.

yes, it's in 'Settings', in the drop down menu under your username. Scroll down to 'Type' and 'Sort Type', and you can set your defaults to whatever you want.

In your profile settings. Not sure as my instance is localized, but it should be two settings for "Type" and "order by" or something along that. Mine are set to subscribed and new.
Im not on PC right now, but I remember there is a setting in the profile for that
Go into your settings by clicking on your name/avatar in the top right and scroll down a bit. There you can set the default.
Hit the menu in the upper right and go to Settings. Scroll down past the languages and there's a "type" selector that determines which feed you see by default.
