"It is a hideous, oversized development that uses up too much for the benefit it gives."

"So it got more and more degenerate, it got more and more dilapidated, it got concrete cancer."

Aw, what a shame! I have some good memories going there as a kid with my mum.

With the new heatwaves up in the northern hemisphere I am not looking forward to our turn. I bet this year the public swimming pools and beaches will be pretty full because of this!

Yeah after at least 2 mild summers, it really does seem like our time is up. El Nino is also flagged for this summer http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso/outlook/

@DiamondOptics @AgnosticMammal

Mid North SA - the signs are already there. There was a thunderstorm around mid night. I had to go out and stow something. Noticed it was 14C. That is unusually warm here for a midnight in July.

Hey! I'm currently using Sync for Lemmy and I realised only now that I have an inbox with unread replies 😅

2 months later with spring in full force, the outback towns are already getting above 35's - so I'm definitely not looking forward to our peak summer!

They are not just demolishing the aquatic centre and building something in that plot of land. The problem is that they are expanding into the surrounding parklands that locals are against. This was brought up quite a while ago.
