Comic Books

A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

What a wild ride that was. This was my first introduction to Daredevil comics and instantly hooked me into the series.

I can't wait to see the rest of Matt's story.

What is your reccomend story arc?

I haven't read a lot of Daredevil, but I enjoyed Mark Waid's and Chip Zdarsky's runs. I should check out this run! I've only read Kevin Smith's Viewaskewniverse comic books.

Are all the Viewaskewniverse comic books based off the movies or are they unique?

I have seen a few of the movies but didn't know how deep it went.

I know there's a few Clerks and Jay & SIlent Bob comics which I haven't read. But the recent "Quick Stops" was fun, and it adds context to the universe telling tales of things that have been referenced or are related to the movies. They're in black and white like Clerks.

Carry on reading the series. The David Mack stuff is fairly heavy in terms of style, but push through to get the the Bendis stuff and from then on it's good stuff right though his and Brubakers runs.

I just got to Brubakers run a few days ago. I'm a little nervous about the switch of writers as I thought the previous team did a fantastic job and it will be hard to follow up.

Are you saying Brubaker run is just as good?

Possibly better as Brubaker doesn't have the same tics in his conversational dialogue the Bendis does.
