This is a rather enjoyable (and long) fanfiction for Harry Potter. It's set in a somewhat similar world to canon, but is modified in various ways. Such as Peter Pettigrew not hiding out as a rat.
It is a Wrong Boy Who Lived story (this being a story where Harry has a sibling which is thought to be the Boy Who Lived), and it has loads of other common tropes but it applies various twists upon them that makes it a lovely experience.

I know that the story has many followers (at least judgging from the reviews constantly coming up on that other discussion site), but I just cannot get over myself over the WBWL trope. Oh well.

I like the overall concept but it started to get way way way to squirrelly. Like some of the offshoot stories became detractors. Hell, there were seven large chapters devoted to the quidditch World Cup, as an example. At this rate we will never complete the series. I just wish there was more focus. I’ll revisit in a few years to check on the profess. But it’s a huge undertaking, and at times painful, slog. I’d still recommend if you have time to kill, but be warned.

The holiday chapters with the Italians, Blaise's 'lore' and everything was basically bloat for me. It was interesting, and I'm sure it will impact the main story later but I'd rather hear more about the more important characters. Which is the aspect of the story that keeps me hooked still.

Wow, this is an old post that I only found through search-lemmy.com.

It's only got better for the core story. Though I feel like the author has written far too much filler, and given many characters far too much 'screen-time' like in GoT for instance.

I'm excited for the rest of the series.
