Search for [email protected] in the search bar of the other instance. That forces it to be indexed
I tried that too from the lemmy.film instance while signed in to my lemmy.film account, still didn't work :( searching just "lightsabers" did work though, which is weird. I guess it's just taking a while to be indexed or something?
Someone who is a member of another instance needs to search for the url of your specific community on their instance, then it'll pop up...
That's what I thought, but when searching for it from my Lemmy.film account I can't find it, using the url or the exclamation point.
Sometimes it takes a while. The search may say No results and only show the comm a bit later. There may also be a federation issue. But the process is correct.
Ok cool just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, thanks so much! I made it last night and it seems like I can only now search "lightsabers" and it pops up when searching from the film instance, so that's progress! Guess it'll take a bit longer for the links to work in other instances too or something. Thanks again!
