That was an incredible moment for O’Malley. Watching the end of the main event was reminiscent of McGregor vs Aldo. Both in the pull back counter for the finish and the immense crowd pop for the crowning of a well-hyped new champion.
Respect to both guys for their character after the fight. I know O’Malley wants Chito next, but I’d like to see him fight Dvalishvili myself. The story line is there and he deserves it more. I also hope we see O’Malley vs Sandhagen down the road.
Such crazy precision and timing
I'm a fuckin believer now. What I can appreciate about this dude is his seriousness. Behind all the hair and the commentary, homeboy said not a single word to Aljo before the start of Rd 1.
Behind the hype is a man who is very focused .His fight IQ is leaps and bounds better than I gave credit to. I was rooting for Aljo but damn, what a fight.
O'Mally looks kind of scrawny until he crumples a professional fighter with his fist while backing up.
I bet $1 on Aljo to win by submission, I am distraught
this is also why I only bet $1 at a time
I can't fuckin believe it. I didn't think it was gonna happen.
I'm really happy for O'Malley. Best outcome imo.
Sean had a pretty nice performance, he can now fight Meran, and Aljo was a shit champ
He beat aljo obviously and i love to see aljo lose but o malley still lost his last fight to yan and didnt deserve to even be in the cage.
He ko'd the champ dude
While I think that you are right in some way – he lost to Yan which normally would have disqualified him from the title shot – desert rarely plays a role in the sport. You could say that Pereira didn't deserve his title shot while Leon was deserving his much earlier than he got it. But we all accept that the UFC is pursuing its own agenda like building hype jobs and promoting viewership and watch the show regardless. So I don't think it is fair to criticise any of the parties here (maybe apart from the UFC when they do sometimes claim to build fights around desert).
100% understand the angle. But i think its fair to say outloud that he was given a shot he shouldnt have. He would been dumb to turn it down and he did beat the champ absolutely. Because the highest honor in the sport is to be champ and have the belt, giving the belt to people who shouldnt of been in the running devalues the position. Its the ufc's fault though yeah.
