About us
An open, user owned community dedicated to the philosophy of minimalism and the minimalist way of life. All types of posts are allowed, as long as they are relevant to the topic of minimalism.
Rules
1. Be honest with yourself and others.
The goal is to develop yourself personally and as a community. Seriously, if you’re not honest with yourself and pretend to be someone else, you’re not going anywhere. The first step to progression is acceptance, isn’t it?
2. Be polite to others and respects each others opinions.
Your freedom ends where somebody else's begins. Remember that there are people that may see things differently than you.
3. Keep it theme-oriented, up to date and relevant.
In general, all types of contributions are allowed, but the relevance to this community must always be evident and presented openly by the contributor. Posts that do not meet these requirements will be removed after a public warning.
4. Use self-moderation measures first before reporting.
This community is fundamentally built upon freedom of speech. Since everyone understands minimalism differently and we do not want to exclude any kind of content a priori, we appeal to the individual users to block/mute posts or users who do not meet their requirements. Please bear this in mind when filing a report

MODERATORS
I'm quite enjoying Nicolas Garofola's content. I am seeing an increase in sponsored stuff in recent videos though so have started to become mindful of any mentioned products. In general though I like his stuff. Very chill.
I used to like Jenny Mustard, but unfortunately at this point she's a minimalist in name only. I get that her fashion content caught on and she's pursuing that, which is understandable, but her older content was a lot more interesting to me personally.
I really liked that she was willing to explore ideas, for example she did a great video on why she doesn't want kids. She just kind of did her own thing without worrying too much about doing what she was "supposed" to do, which I appreciated.
Also liked Messy Minimalist, even though it was more decluttering than minimalism. She was unique in that she wasn't the 10000th minimalist youtuber with a completely white and barren London apartment and an unrealistically staged life. She just kinda went on decluttering missions around her house with a bit of a minimalist touch. Kind of addictive to watch and definitely more down to earth than some.
Watching less of these but still enjoy following:
- According to Nicole Canadian minimalist with interesting videos about lifestyle design, (FIRE, Minimalism, Stoicism, etc.)
- Simply Fatima Amiri- Kenyan rural minimalist, really interesting videos, different culture but many similarities, particularly in outlook
- Aki (Samurai Matcha)- A minimalist who is a school teacher living in a small village in Japan
- Joana Almeida - Architect who lives an productively minimalist lifestyle.
