[[Orcish Bowmasters]] will definitely be strong, and as a proud [[Locust God]] main I'm terrified, but I don't think its power level or play patterns are anywhere close to ban-worthy.

And then even considering [[Mirkwood Bats]] for a ban? Lmao

Where are those being considered for a ban?

We’ve been following the community’s discussions and concerns surrounding Orcish Bowmasters, and – to a lesser extent – Mirkwood Bats. With the help of the Commander Advisory Group, we’ll be observing how and if those discussions change over time as people play and play against these cards.

I have not seen orcish bowmasters in the wild yet, but seems like it’s mostly just punishing people for drawing a lot of cards? As someone into “fair” magic, this seems like a good thing??

It has the same problem as Hullbreacher in that it doesn't distinguish based on who triggered the draws. If I have Bowmasters out and play a wheel, I get to divide 21 damage and make a 21/21. It doesn't promote fair magic, it just promotes a different style of degeneracy.

It also doesn't force me to punish the person who actually drew the cards, which opens up interesting lines, but again doesn't promote fair magic.

If Bowmasters said "Whenever a spell or ability an opponent controls causes them to draw a card," it would be much less prone to abuse.

Ahhhh these are good call outs. I wish they’d print more hate cards for all the crazy draws and free spells and cheap tutors, but I guess this isn’t it.
