I don't understand how developers think this is okay. This needs to be fixed with priority!
I think it's less that "developers think this is okay", and more that this was an alpha stage project prior to the Reddit meltdown and influx a couple of months ago, and they've been working their asses off to keep the site up and stable, and are working to evolve the functionality to meet the need as soon as practical/possible.
I know, and I do appreciate that. I mostly speak out of frustration that our moderation tools are very rudimentary. We simply don't have all the tools we need to do proper content curation.
Kbin has burst onto the scene of the fediverse, and is now a serious player. I think it risks defederation if this issue isn't fixed. It is an attack vector for people with nefarious goals.
It's an open source project so you're in luck! Submit your own pull request so it can be reviewed and included! If you've not the skills to do so then you'll just have to have patience. :)
They'll get there when they can!
Looking at the existing moderation tools on kbin, I don't think locking exists on kbin yet? The ones I can see are "ban", "pin", "delete" marking as NSFW and changing the language.
Wow, kbin is being weird - it’s saying there are fine comments, but when I block to view them, it says there are no comments. Wth?
