Nice :) Has that community been around since before the VR game got announced?
No, because I joined Lemmy after the announcement, and my instance was created July 6th. But my Discord community has been around for many years, even before The 13th Doll was released
I tried to bring some people from the Discord to the Lemmy community but I don't think any of them joined. I did manage to get some Reddit users to join the Discord though.
There's quite a few fans on Facebook too, mostly in the fan club for The 13th Doll

Hehe yeah I'm trying to get a few communities to start using Lemmy, it's tough. But even if they aren't making accounts, if they're just reading my posts then at least they're maybe getting comfortable with Lemmy?
For Deus Ex Randomizer we have a Mastodon bot that quite a few people in that Discord community enjoy reading, it posts about things that happen in your game (if you opt-in).
Which headset do you plan on buying and is there a release date for 7th guest already? Also, if you buy a quest, will you play standalone or via link?
I'll probably get a Quest 2 (unless maybe Valve releases the Index 2 in time? lol), playing with link cable (RTX 2080).
Although I might speedrun the game (I did speedrun the original T7G) so I might end up playing both with and without the link cable
T7G VR doesn't have a release date yet, maybe October?
I don’t know about an Index 2, but Quest 3 will likely come out sometime in October. It’s probably worth waiting for that, to either get the Q2 cheaper or a more comfortable and more capable Q3.
does the Quest 3 offer much improvement when linked to PC? I thought it was quite a bit more expensive but the screen isn't much better just the SoC

It’s all still rumors obvsl, but from what I‘ve heard, I think these would be relevant even for link:
- 30% higher resolution
- color passthrough (not for games but for looking around without taking it off)
- 40% slimmer (same weight but still a lot more comfortable due to it being a lot closer to your head, Q2 can be quite wobbly when you turn)
- better IPD adjustment (eye distance)
- controllers without a tracking ring (can be annoying)
- Wifi 6e (which could depending on your setup help with playing PCVR wirelessly)
But yes, it’s supposed to be more expensive and a Q2 will be just fine
Ghostbusters, Stanger Things, I Expect You to Die 3, Uboat, Racket Club, 7th Guest and Hellsweeper personally. I'm hoping I expect you to die comes out on Rift with bhaptics support.
For me it’s A2 (echo was by a mile my most played game and I’m dying to see what that’s like). After that: Vampire, Asassins Creed, Uboat maybe. I’ll probably get all of the ones you mentioned as well^^
