Bersmin said the program would provide a "dignified pathway" for the former combatants to rebuild their lives, become productive, and contribute to society's progress.

May nagawa na ba ang mga politiko para pagkatiwalaan ng rebelde? Ako nga na hindi rebelde, walang tiwala sa mga politiko, paano pa ang mga rebelde?

Pero alam naman natin na itong move ng admin ay hindi tungkol sa peace. Para masabi lang na ginawan nila ng paraan. Para iappease lang ang ibang sectors. Pag pumalpak dahil kulang sa commitment, sasabihin na kasalan ng rebelde na hindi nakipag ayos.

Parang nasorry na nga yung bully mo sa iyo pero di mo tinanggap, kaya kasalanan mo na, kahit binubully ka pa din.

Leody mentioned this during the debates and people interpreted it as him coddling/endorsing the NPA... despite mentioning that he's against armed conflict and their methods literally seconds before that.
