So I've never cut one of these before, and frankly I'm not sure how it would turn out.

Let me know your guess!

(I should have a new stone finished this weekend which I'll share Monday.)

No guesses… the answer is calcite.

Just trying to drive traffic and interaction. I guess most like the pretty stuff. 😂

I was truly stumped by this one! I'm really curious to see what you facet from it though, you don't see many calcite gems. Please share if/when you try!

I've never really thought what calcite would look like faceted - I'm interested in the results! The softness must make it really hard to do the final polish?

From what I’ve read it’s actually the perfect cleavage planes that cause the most issues. The gem can fracture while cutting. 😟
