I've been liking the old anime anesthetic so I'll for sure check them out.
If you want something to laugh at check out Grand Blue
Something to laugh at but it is an isekai The Eminence in Shadow or KONOSUBA
Or an SOL to laugh at BOCCHI THE ROCK!
Grand Blue looks interesting and a different setting from the anime I've seen I'll check that out.
The anime is good and if you like it you should check out the manga it is amazing.
- ODDTAXI (absolutely amazing)
- Madoka Magica (watch until ep 3 at least)
- Land of the Lustrous (very different animation style)
- Vinland Saga (great story)
- Your Name. (great romance)
- Baccano! (very interesting style of storytelling. The characters feel like something you'd see in a theatre)
- Dorohedoro (weird, but interesting)
- Dororo (just two good friends adventuring)
- Made in Abyss (gets good, but really takes those 13 episodes for that)
Oddtaxi is an absolute classic

- Gakkougurashi!: Just watch it. Don't look up ANYTHING about it.
- Violet Evergarden: A child soldier discovers what it's like to be human. Don't marathon this. It will make you cry
- Little Witch Academia: Anime Harry Potter
- Mob Psycho 100: Psychic kid is mentored by con artist claiming to be psychic.
- MagiRevo: Princess with no magical powers wants to fly so develops magicology. She takes in Euphyllia, her brother's ex-fiancee, as an assistant.

Oshi no Ko
Hell's paradise
I've seen Oshi no Ko mentioned a lot. Is it really good?
Don't look anything up about it and just watch the first episode if you have a spare 1.5 hrs to spend. If you don't like it then it's easy to find out.
It's an exploration of the entertainment industry that does not shy away from the darker side of it. It's still airing, so maybe keep it in your back pocket, but it's pretty darn good. Same creator as Kaguya-sama.
On that note, I would also recommend Kaguya-sama. A romance/comedy where two people are trying to get the other to confess their feelings first.
It's an amazing blend of solemn and heartwarming scenes, also very well-made on the technical level. Watching it makes me feel energized and inspired.
Demon Slayer's animation is incredibly beautiful.

My absolute favorite has always been Samarai Champloo. Same creator, also fantastic Coyboy Bebop.
Others I enjoyed:
Mob Psycho 100 & One Punch Man (same creator behind both)
Berserk (I've only seen the 3 movies for Golden Age on Netflix)
Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyojin
Trigun (I loved the original, but the recent remake was decent)
Dorohedoro (Incomplete, not sure if getting 2nd season)

Other than what was listed I've watched some of the older animes that were recommended like Cowboy bebop, Samurai Champloo, Jorumond, and Black Lagoon which I all really liked. And the Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy. Started trying out some of the newer stuff with newest thing being Bocchi which was funny and I liked the animation gags in it.
I don't think I'd get into those really super long anime with hundreds and hundreds of episode that go on. Those seem like too much for one series for me. At least for now.
Yeah agreed. One Piece sorta interests me, but that is a long anime at this point. I barely have enough time to keep up with Demon Slayer on the weekly so I'm not about to start a saga like that.
Oh yeah, one piece I don't think I could ever get into due to the episodes being way too much at this point. Maybe I'd speed read the Manga instead.
If you liked Cyberpunk 2077, you might also like Psycho-Pass. It depicts a sci-fi future where they attempt to prevent crime by measuring peoples mental state to varying degrees of success. It's widely considered a great show and a quintessential Sci-Fi Anime.
I've heard the name a lot, but never knew what it was about. But, hearing it is sci-fi definitely moves it into my watch list now.

Patlabor, specifically "Patlabor ON TELEVISION" and "Patlabor New Files" (sometimes called New OVA) are about a very comfy close-future environment about a group of police who are under the division for dealing with any mech incidents, meaning giant robot fights will happen in a very down-to-earth setting
I also recommend the movies if you enjoy the GITS movie as it's the same director and he likes exploring a various amount of social commentary, from criticism of institutional inefficiency to existential reflections, (just dont watch the 3rd movie, it has nothing to do with anyone who made the original Patlabor)
There's also the original Patlabor OVA, but I personally didn't enjoy that nearly as much as the tv anime, and some of the characters act a little different, so it might be jarring if you watch that before the tv anime despite it being chronologically made first

I recommend Jujutsu Kaisen.
Is it a long series or one that's coming to an end?
It has 2 seasons so far. The manga is planning to end this year, so possibly 2-3 more seasons tops.

Has anyone recommended Gundam yet? No? Good, I'm recommending Gundam.
Now, the whole thing might confuse you, and there are a ton of separate Gundam shows each one in it's own continuity. So, to make things simple, I'm going to just suggest two of them. The currently airing Gundam: Witch From Mercury, and the classic that started everything, Mobile Suit Gundam.
The 3 compilation movies of the classic Gundam are on the Gundam.info Youtube channel for free right now, by the way! There's several other shows in that channel and you might even be able to watch G-Witch depending on your location.
Gundam is awesome. I got into it after I got into Gunpla and wanted to find out about the series. Zakus got the best design. I've seen the first movie trilogy, but not the rest yet. Was the oldest anime I've seen and it held up well.
Gouf is so cool. Love the blue color scheme and the whip. I want to build his Zaku one day. Been eyeing MG kit.
If you liked the original, and don't mind the older animation style, you should check out Gundam Zeta, it takes place after the end of the One year war from Gundam 0079.

Supersonic monkeys, vampires, talking fishmen, and all sorts of different supernatural monsters living alongside humans.
That's a wild description. Definitely got me curious now.
I just watched Akiba Maid wars. it was an absolutely nonsensical series, recommend it.
For Shonen I recommend Hunter x Hunter and Jo Jo Bizarre Adventure!
I see there are two Hunter x Hunter anime. Which do you recommend?
While the 1999 version has the old aesthetic that you say you like, I would recommend the 2011 version due to a lot of times just presenting individual scenes so well, the team really came together to make dramatic when it counted, and it also goes further into one of the best arcs of HxH

Some of my favorite intense action animes include Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. (Same animators as Cyberpunk - anything by Studio Trigger is really fun).
For silly classroom shenanigans like Assassination Classroom, I like Welcome to Demon School Iruma Kun and My Hero Academia.
Nichijou (日常). On the surface it is an absurdist slice of life comedy with very good animation and an unique art style. If one looks harder, many skits look to be animated koans. The very first skit of the first episode is a good example. 10/10
Have you watched the popular stuff like Attack on Titan or Death Note?
my recommendation in general or for anyone looking for something different is Sonny Boy. the show is about a class of kids finding themselves alone after their school suddenly comes to exist in a black empty void, or, "going adrift" as they put it. alongside this they each also manifest odd powers from bending reality entirely to making their fingertip glow.
this premise expands a lot in the show in ways you really cannot predict. it's completely bizzare and very sentimental. it's a short show at 12 episodes, but absolutely one of my favorite shows of all time and very unique. i've recommended it several times to many people and everyone i know has loved it.
