Oook!

I am on Carpe Jugulum of the Discworld books. That's book #23 out of 42.

I'm a bit compulsive, so I'm reading them all back to back in order.

Yay! Someone else who has read Long Earth!

Fantastic series! I was discussing it somewhere on here the other day and someone recommended me some of Stephen Baxter’s solo books. Just about done with Times Eye and really enjoyed it so far.

I liked it too, bought it at the used book store with no idea what it was, just because I love Discworld. It's really interesting! I've got 1 and 3, waiting for the others to turn up at the store.

Lobsang is an interesting character.

Also, obligatory GNU Terry Pratchett.

I notice that my lemmy instance does not have "clacks-overhead" in the HTTP headers, so they're not doing their part to keep his name alive in the Clacks. (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/clacks-overhead-gnu-terry/lnndfmobdoobjfcalkmfojmanbeoegab)

I still can’t bring myself to start Shepherd’s Crown. Then it’ll really be over :(

I only read discworld and some others from Pratchett and love them. Are the books with Baxter any good?

Not op, but I like them a lot. They don’t feel much like Discworld books, but they’re a lot of fun. Really interesting, surprisingly deep and with actual scientific ideas woven in even though I wouldn’t call them hard sci-fi.
