Random Old Memes and ✨Stuff✨

Got sick of bigots, and pedants, and trying to figure out if something is “meme enough” to count, and of feeling like I’m spamming other spaces, and very quickly of the lemmy UI too (still love you blahaj.zone!) so am opening my own space where I can make my own rules and post my collection in peace. ❗BE WARNED: SOME OF THE IMAGES YOU SEE HERE MAY NOT TECHNICALLY BE MEMES❗ Now that we got that out of the way, let the infodump commence! Expect a mix of slightly outdated: mostly leftist (but never tankie) content, many cats, and some general old memes I’ve collected over the years. There are many, so will try to mix it up! Update: looks like 🐝Beehaw🐝 have banned this magazine. If you want real leftism rather than "nice" (more like "unchallenging to the status quo and the comfort of libs") leftism, I guess you'll have to follow from elsewhere!

4 panel comic of two people talking

1 A: "WHY ARE YOU A FEMINIST?"

B: "BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN EQUALITY."

2 A: "THEN YOU SHOULD CALL YOUR- SELF AN "EQUALIST" OR "EGALITARIAN"."

B: "I USE "FEMINIST" BECAUSE MY MAIN FOCUS IS ON THE UNEQUAL STATUS OF WOMEN."

3 A: "SO YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT WOMEN. THAT'S NOT EQUALITY - THAT'S REVERSE SEXISM."

B, pausing to think: "I SEE WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. LET ME REPHRASE MY ANSWER."

4 B, pointing at A: "YOU."
"YOU ARE THE REASON I'M A FEMINIST."

I am a self identifying feminist, and also a male. There are many important women's issues that have yet to be solved even living in Canada (US is worse and Iran is worse again etc) but it does make me sad that a lot of feminist women get radicalized by feminism (they are a small small minority of women).

I have met some women that refuse to acknowledge that there is sexism against men, and that we do have certain societal expectations put on us as women do. Some of these women really believe there being a patriarchy means that no men have struggles in their life due to their sex. Those radical feminazis are usually unreasonable, that is why they are such a tiny minority of women, but their existence is a stain on the term, and a great escape goat for any dumb non critically thinking man who thinks that the women are out to get him.

There is no solution to this, a rebranding most likely would not even reduce this as an issue, unfortunately there will always be people who attach their internal anger onto a cause and use that as justification to be a shitty person instead of going to therapy.

Those radical feminazis

Laugh my fucking ass all the fucking way fucking off. 🤣🤣🤣
Sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up, if you do I won't ban you and you might actually learn something.

Hmmm, if you read my comment you would see that I was talking about a tiny tiny fraction of overall feminists, which again I identify as. That's why I used the term feminazi when referring to those extremists because they do not accurately represent the rest of us feminists.

If you want you are free to re-read my comment, and maybe you will actually understand what I was saying. Or you can ban me if you're incapable of hearing other people's thoughts even when they are an ally. If that's what you choose to do I think that's your loss, but that's just my opinion.

if you’re incapable of hearing other people’s thoughts even when they are an ally

Says the person incapable of not centering himself, and listening to the people he pretends to care about, and no, you're not s fucking ally, nor are you a feminist (nevermind a self declared either one of thos, you being an ally is for the oppressed group to decide not for you to claim. Especially when you can't even help yourself but whine about "feminazis")
What you are is a typical fucking clown.

I feel like you just want to be angry, I find it sad that you don't want people to have the ability to self identify as feminists, feels very counter productive.

I know I am an ally because of my friends. My friends would not be my friends if I was some 4chan trolling women hating degenerate, and some angry internet person who is looking for an argument won't make me second guess that. 😊

Also "you being an ally is for the oppressed group to decide" is a really ignorant statement, a group can't collectively decide something like that, those groups are made up of individuals with individual beliefs. Thinking of them as a hive mind like that gives credibility to right wing conspiracies, which again is hurting your own cause.

You know the more I think about it the more I think you are actually some 4chan troll on here trying to enrage people into hating feminists.. that would be very uncool. Either way I'm done with this conversation since it's not really a conversation, its going no where haha, enjoy your weekend.

Dude literally mansplaining feminism and allyship, they can't help themselves, can they.. 😂

[–] Cybermass 2 points 1 year ago

Well if you feel I'm mansplaining then I'm willing to hear you out. If you'd like please elaborate on exactly how I mansplained feminism and allyship.

No it doesn't. He makes a good point.

Lmfao ok

To clarify for others: feminism already is those other things, and demanding it be "rebranded" to make men comfortable proves why it's needed - because we're always expected to diminish and marginalise ourselves to accommodate the feelings (not even needs!) of men.
Fuck that noise. It's not up for debate.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. To me it just feels like feminists who try to sell femanism as for everyone and about equality for everyone are disingenuous. You're saying you stand for one thing but your name implies you have specific priorities which is not equal. I completely support women's rights, I just don't support calling yourself one thing and then saying your movement is about something I don't feel you follow through with.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No he doesn't. He makes a very "all lives matter" flavoured point.

[–] JesusRat 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Then feminists should be more specific in saying feminism is about women's equality. It's not about addressing overall inequality, just women's. And that's fine. I support them in that. Just don't try to sell me this horse and pony show about how it's about equality overall - it's not.

Annoying strawman argument

Who are you arguing with? Which people make these retarded points?

It's like you were actively searching for the stupidest reason to have your gotcha meme.
