At the place where I'm on vacation, they have Pitralon aftershave in a supermarket - both the classic red and also a blue Polar one. Should I get one, and if yes, which one and why?
Answers telling me that the correct response is "both" will not be accepted.

The correct answer for the number of aftershaves, soaps, razor, and so on is always n+1, where n is the number you currently have. So if you buy one of them, you'll need to buy the second one too...
Jokes aside, I am not familiar with Pitralon. I did however go to their website and read up on the fragrance pyramid of both of them. They both sounds lovely, but I would spend my money on the classic red.
Cedar wood just sounds better to me than freshly mown grass :)

Pitralon features in a few German-language popsongs, among which this one. Trigger-warning: weird 1980 stuff. The song claims that "girls like it when you smell like a polecat", and strongly suggests that the use of Pitralon is a way of achieving this.
I assume that this version references the classic red one - and I'm both tempted and afraid of trying it.

Well, this is not very Standard German, and the band, while having a huge success in Austria and Bavaria (and maybe in Switzerland?), never made it in the rest of Germany.

I'm not a fan of the polar one. Smells like alcohol and menthol.
I'm curious about the red one. Polar is a German Pitralon, but the *normal" Pitralon there is green. Swiss Pitralon is red, but the power isn't sold here, so what's your red Pitralon? Where does it come from? If it's like the Swiss Pitralon Original:
Then it's glorious: classic Ralon scent (which is said to be identical to the original uNoBtAiNiUm Pitralon) plus pear.
I managed to go to the supermarket without my dear wife. It doesn't look quite like the Swiss version:

According to this site, you should get the same in Germany as Pitralon Pure.

I did a road trip from Zagreb > Plitvice > Split > Dubrovnik. Really want to go back and hit up the northern part of the coastline.
That's great! I did the same trip 14 years ago (in reverse order, bit still)
The northern coastline is nice, too, but the best is visiting the islands. Those little harbours with their fish restaurants and the konobas in the hills is peak summer vacation for me

I don't believe that we will get an influx of people coming here after AA: Initial outrage is over, and things are going on on reddit as before.

That’s disappointing. I don’t think I’ll go back, which I guess means no more shaving community for me. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
I'm off Reddit for good as well. Maybe be like me and join the Discord server if you're missing the shaving community and don't feel like going back to Reddit. It's also nice to stop reading so much about wetshaving which really cuts down on the FOMO and the shaving purchases. I've been really enjoying the stuff I have and I'm also working on killing more soaps which is nice.
That’s an interesting idea, I’ve never used discord. I’ve mostly done a good job over the years of not going crazy with my purchases, but the temptation was always there, so good call on that.
We'll see how things will work out - maybe in September, everybody will turn up here.

Lather Games were a success, IMO. The top twenty or so participants really brought their A game.
