A report by USAID from June 2023 noted that nine out of every ten dollars spent by the organisation in the 2022 fiscal year went to international contracting partners, most of whom are situated in Washington, DC.

What is going on that a Counterpunch piece is being downvoted? Can’t it both be true that Musks’s rampage denying vulnerable people medicine is evil, and that funding soft power aimed at undermining foreign leaders opposed to the US empire is bad too? Is it really that hard to hold two ideas in your head at the same time?
