Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Day 17. No cravings. Not even really thinking about alcohol too often. Starting to feel depressed and lonely. Is this a brain chemistry thing? I don't see any less people. I'm aggravated easily.

From what everyone said I'd feel like a million bucks and be proud of myself and all that. I feel just as shitty as I did before but there's no light at the end of week.

my first month or so I wanted to murder people for breathing too loudly at work 😁 To be fair, I still do, but not as much.

It probably is a combination of brain chemistry and an abruptly broken habit, you brain is going "I normally have to deal with a load of alcohol in this situation, better get the brain chemicals lined up, oh wait, what am I supposed to do with all this stuff now?"

The good thing is your brain learns quite quickly to stop releasing the counteractive hormones, so this will pass, I promise.

And you should feel proud, even while you're not feeling great - you're doing brilliantly.

Have a look at the pinned posts for some suggestions of supportive things to do while you're working through this.
