I have been curious about degoogled android operating system options but my phone is galaxy a54. Through the options I could find they do not mention any support for this model. Any advice on this?

Things may have changed but I remember looking 6 years ago for alternatives and on Samsung phones they didn't work. Their Knox security implementation really busted the ROM community on Samsung phones.

I'd recommend looking at alternative OS sites and checking their supported devices lists and see what brand seems best supported. I remember One plus worked well in the past. Not sure about current phones.

I found a post from a few months ago saying someone managed to get LineageOS on it, which is interesting but it's the only real lead I've found so far, and I don't want to risk bricking my only phone for. It's a shame there doesn't seem to be a lot of support for this model though. I don't have a lot of money to spare to buy a new phone specifically to degoogle, but I might have to end up buying one. I could probably get a cheap refurbished one from one of the popular privacy os's for daily use and keep this samsung one for stuff that I might still need google for.

You can also try selling it and looking for a refurbrished Pixel phone. They support GrapheneOS which might be the best custom operating system for Android. They also allow you to install sandboxed Play Services (you can do that in secondary profile for even more separation).

Try taking a look at this blog post about installing a Generic System Image (GSI) to Samsung phones. It was shared to !Degoogle recently by the author, @[email protected] — maybe he can be of help even with more esoteric models?
