An old GSC patriarch being ready to be painted! The charm and detail on this model is something I miss with genestealers!
This is a great model, I'd love to have one in my collection. I'm not impressed with the modern "here's a big genestealer" models.
Agree, they just have a different vibe. The new one is a king killing machine of the killing machines.
The old one feels like an out of space pope you try to negotiate with to save your planet from the nids. They tend to serve very different purposes.
I just finished painting it up so I'll post it later, but the little details like it wearing rings and it's chair having Sudo religious iconography is amazing
