I think that's what I'm doing, being on hormones as an enby is a really fun balancing act to get the right outcome lol

You jest but I know trans femmes that use T gel to make their bits function fully still.

And I know trans men who use estrogen cream for their bits. And I've considered finasteride because I'm losing my hair and minoxidil hasn't done as much as I'd like.

The last one sounds like some type of pasta and now I can't stop thinking of HRT in stereotypical pasta boxes. Help

I don't think progesterone is recommended anymore.

I started progesterone on my second year of HRT, although then I had an incident with my heart unrelated to my HRT, and got my progesterone taken away as a precautionary measure. Got that checked out by a cardiologist, was informed with confidence that it was most likely a one off occurance with only one followup left to rule anything else out. But the planned parenthood clinician I get my HRT from just told me they wouldn't put me back on it because of the blood clot risk.

Didn't matter how I felt about the situation, didn't matter what other options there were to address that risk, didn't care about my opinion on the risk to my own body in my own transition, was just a big "fuck me". Pretty sure their reasoning was some more bullshit regurgitated from some quack study 40 years ago but whatever I guess.

It's recommended starting year 2 of hrt, but not recommended in the first year, from what I understand.

It's also the case that most anti androgens have progestergenic effects, with the few exceptions not being great options.

I'm on progesterone as prescribed by my doctor, as are many people I know or have conversed with.

I have been taking it for 3 years. Though I do wonder what my levels would be if I stopped since it's been a year since surgery.

Been taking Fin for a little over 2 years now, I would say it's not HRT on its own, especially when its main/original use is to stop/prevent an enlarging prostate in your later years. It also only targets DHT and not your regular T; when I had my levels checked last year, my T was very much still in the cis man range while my DHT was in cis woman range.

It can definitely be used as part of a HRT routine. If I were the artist, I woulda put "spironolactone" or "cyproterone" though, but I'm a talentless hack so this is the meme we got.
