Mission Details 🚀

  • SpaceX website (current, archive). Highlights:

  • First launch of Starship version 2, which has the updated forward flap design.

  • Another in-space raptor relight is planned.

  • Multiple metallic test tiles on S33, including one with active cooling.

  • "non-structural versions of ship catch fittings are installed"

There are lots of flights east of Turks and Caicos Islands/north of Puerto Rico that are currently flying in circles, apparently avoiding the debris field.

That onboard footage was GORGEOUS. So cool.

But ouch, I hope no one was hurt by debris. Initial reports look like the broken ship flew pretty close to some caribbean islands. This feels like a pretty big setback and I'm expecting an extended investigation. I wonder whether this was a fluke or something related to V2 upgrades.
