Wow. That's...not something I would've ever guessed exists. Humans really haven't changed much, huh?
Historical Artifacts
Just a community for everyone to share artifacts, reconstructions, or replicas for the historically-inclined to admire!
Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.
Generally speaking, ruins should go to [email protected]
Illustrations of the past should go to [email protected]
Photos of the past should go to [email protected]

No, we haven't changed much at all. Just fancier ways of satisfying those same thoughts. XD

Rome has a lot of oddities like this, as it had a high-functioning market economy, massive industrial sector (especially the expansion of cheap glasswork), and large consumer base. So you see a lot of little oddities that seem positively modern, because they were appealing to the same consumerist instincts that 19th-21st century societies would later cater to. Consumer goods from utilitarian to goofy to elegant to kitsch!
I’d totally buy replicas of these to use at home.
