Florida Governor Ron DeSantis aspires to be the same kind of Autocrat despised by the founders of the United States. He must be exposed for what he is: a great threat to our Democratic Republic and American values. Republicans don't punish big businesses like the Walt Disney Company for disagreeing with them. These guys are so fucking stupid. Almost ever single Community Development District in Florida has a line item on its budget for funding additional security from either off duty Sheriff's Deputies, State Troopers, or private security. In my county at least, deputies are about $45/hour and you can hire them in 4 hour shifts. Participation by the deputies is entirely optional for them and in addition to their normal duties. Troopers are more expensive, around $80/hr if my memory is right, plus they charge an extra hour for the drive.
This is all to say that what Disney is doing with this budget line is entirely normal and mundane. They're acting like Disney is wasting money because their hillbilly voters don't know any better and don't care to learn.
Disney should just close the Florida parks until these laws are reversed. Florida has cheap taxes thanks to tourism.
