Summary

Millions of U.S. children have lost Medicaid coverage due to procedural issues during the unwinding process after the Covid public health emergency.

Families like the Quintanas and Wines face delays restoring coverage, leaving children with chronic conditions without essential care.

Colorado alone saw over 150,000 children lose coverage, and nationwide, over 5 million fewer children are enrolled in Medicaid since March 2023.

Advocates and health officials warn that lapses in preventative care and treatment could harm children’s long-term health, highlighting systemic issues in Medicaid’s eligibility and redetermination processes.

Cmon you evil selfish fucks, at least give us universal healthcare for children. We are talking millions of kids losing coverage temporarily because of enrollment issues. With numbers this big a kid will probably die due to this happening with bad timing and bad luck.

Medicaid is better than nothing, but they could save so much on administration if they just made it universal...

And that name keeps crawling back into my head. Luigi.

Just do it for everyone instead of spending so much money on trying to limit it.

I know but maybe using kids as a starting point might help get us there

We are already backsliding from doing it for children and the elderly. It is time we just stuck with healthcare for everyone and stopped making it any more complicated than that.

It just kills me knowing so many people just throw their hands in the air and just say "FUCK THOSE POOR KIDS"

What the fuck could be more important than the health of children?Jesus fucking christ

Hey, not to be a downer, but it sounds like maybe you didn't get the memo about the importance your government places on your kids after Sandy Hook and Uvalde. I'll summarize what you're eligible for:

  • thoughts
  • prayers

That's it.

They will do anything besides fix any problems impacting the working class.

But generally, some PR shill op is all they are willing to do.
