A while ago @[email protected] and I had a discussion on here about dual level rails. There was a problem with them that milkisklim eventually commented their solution to, but I didn't want to go that route. I settled on a single level LHD network for a "skyway" but wanted to find a solution I liked for stacked lines to use for local networks.

It can still be difficult to tell from above which way is which with the railed version, and the trains will clip through the beams a little, but if it works well for me I have tweaks in mind before I use it too much.

So you are only using this for the local networks? How are you utilizing local networks in your rails?

For visibility, you could move the markers to the side rather than the needing look down. If you wanted, you also have a lot of vertical clearance between the tracks that could be reduced.

I still haven't actually used the local ones (only have time to game on weekends and spent the last couple playing SkyFactory5), but I intend to use them for my iron factory. I have 5 pure nodes where my hub is currently located and intend to set up some pure iron ingot refineries and train the water in from the lake to the southwest. This blueprint may not get used much in this save, but I liked the idea and wanted to at least have it available. The vertical clearance was intentional. The idea was that I'd use the space to decorate, but you see how far that went.

Are your local loops meant to be disconnected from the rest of your rail network?

The water trains for iron will almost certainly be separate from the main. I'm picturing the rest being connected to the skyway and possibly each other. Maybe different systems for different areas just to add a little challenge to the junctions

I might need to start doing things like that. My global rail is getting congested. Although playing with the wait times has helped a great deal.
