If you have had a drink or two and are functional enough to breastfeed, you can usually safely breadtfeed. Almost everything a nursing mother ingests can be passed to baby, but the benefits usually outweigh the risks.

The concept and pump and dumps, when on narcotic pain medication for instance, has been found to be not necessary.
