I typed up this whole thing explaining how I know how you feel, and explaining my story. Then I reread it, and thought it came off like I was trying to one-up you....which I'm not.
So.....I don't know how to comfort you. It doesn't get better. You'll probably be a 90 year old in a wheelchair remembering the times you spent with your friend before they passed. Always cheated by them being taken too early. They could be sitting on the bench, throwing bread to the ducks with you. But.....no.
I know that's not comforting, and I don't have a joke. So maybe just take comfort in knowing that even though you're alone, you're not alone in being alone. If that makes sense.
