Thats great, I hope it sells even more. I am sure the people at FromSoftware never expected to reach that many players.

So? Who cares besides the ones raking in the money?
Does it really matter how much a game you played has profited its CEOs?
It's an indication to the industry about how successful their IP has been.
Companies live and die because of sales, and to know how much something has sold is usually a pretty good indication that we will see more of it, or not.
