Everyone hates on him for his crowd work claiming he's not a real comedian. But imagine: any comedian can write a set and memorize it. But being able to do "improv" in the sense of crowd work, just saying funny things on the spot is all the more challenging. To me, crowdwork is to comedy as freestyle is to rap.

i absolutely agree. i did notice most of his act is just reactionary, but ya know what; so was robin williams
Matt Rife, Nate Jackson and Steve Hofstetter all have good crowdwork. I especially like Steve's handling of hecklers. Also Jimmy Carr's comebacks to hecklers are GOAT.
