Is Trump planning to dismantle the USPS like he tried last term?
Electric Vehicles
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

I'm not sure, did he campaign as republican?
DeJoy actually defending the EV purchase and not just taking whatever Trump demands? What?
Wait. Biden was president for four years and DeJoy is still running the Postal Service? What in the actual fuck?
Iirc he replaced the board that had the power to appoint a new post master but then I guess just never pressured them to actually do it, or they ignored him.
They already put their order in, largely because the hybrid ones kinda suck (even though Dejoy pushed them hard). Now he's trying to save face given Biden effectively forced his hand.
Don't ya just love it when someone does the right thing, but only because they were ~~coerced~~ forced to do it?
Nah DeJoy just wants to make sure that when he succeeds in privatizing and selling the USPS off to his buddies that he can sweeten the pot with a brand new fleet.
For delivery vehicles EV makes a ton of sense. They never travel at the high speeds where EVs are least efficient, they have a consistent place to slow charge every night to prolong battery life, the brakes don't wear despite heavy start/stop service thanks to regen, and by being a single fleet owner the availability of maintenance isn't a large concern.
Why do US mail trucks look like that? No other vehicle in the world looks like that. In Europe mail trucks are just regular vans.
That’s what a truck looks like when it maximizes safety and comfort above all else
I will be honest, I did not expect this response from DeJoy.
