My shocked Pikachu face is starting to feel worn out with shit like this. No duh they're going to milk online again. Obviously, there's not likely to be singleplayer DLC again, and they'll likely lie about not being able to add the multiplayer update stuff to singleplayer. Just like last time.

They've probably learned by now. They'll simply have the single player still be tied to an always online connection, and charge real money to get fake in game money faster, and if you cheat to get more money they will ban you while allowing you to cheat if all it does is ruin other players' fun.

So long as it's a ban from the online portion instead of the singleplayer, that's fine by me. I've already lost most of my interest in the next game from them due to their scummy practices so if their next move is to get rid of any true offline component, it'll complete kill both the game and the company for me. We don't need another Ubisoft or EA.

Been following this series since the 90s, but I have a sinking suspicion that GTA 5 will be the last I want to play. I love 5, I keep replaying it, it's totally my jam. This is despite it checking off all the boxes of things I don't want games to do: requires its own launcher, requires periodic re-activation, pushes microtransactions and begs me to play an online mode that at this point I clearly am not going to.

Rockstar doesn't care about its games anymore, they exist solely as money making vehicles, I'm not expecting much from 6.

I haven't really put much thought into it, but yeah.

Chances are the story is going to be heavily compromised. There will probably be a lot of comparison to GTA V and a lot of people will say "this was an out of touch, stupid story with lame characters" or something like that.

This one has a female protagonist, so I look forward to not being able to differentiate between legitimate criticism about the game, and reviews from man-children that are mad that women exist.

And then if the single player experience bombs, I also look forward to Rockstar pointing to the female protagonist as the reason, and not because they're pouring all their resources into micro transactions.

I personally feel like it will be pretty easy to recognize whether different pieces of criticism are outright misogynistic, borderline, or not misogynistic.

I do think that if the story is getting called "too woke" and resembles Veilguard or Concord in tone, that's actually legitimate criticism, separate from outright misogyny.

Yes and it won't impact this sub for 1.5-2yr.

Best to let this one cook.

Yea this feels like a send off from one generation of gamers to the next. When I see the online mode for 5 constantly receiving updates STILL, it made me wonder about 6 and my suspicious are almost confirmed. I'm not mad that a great game receives support for its whole life cycle but oh boy did they milk that cow to death.

I for one always payed hackers like 5-10$ to dump billions on me and never had an issue with getting banned luckily. I refused to give Rockstar any more money with how they monetize the updates. I'm a sucker for a good DLC though. I have every one for the Total War: Warhammer series ಠ_ಠ

Meanwhile, I had my account suspended when hacking was at it's peak. Never touched a cheat, reported a handful of them.

They had a lot of fuckery going on, as you well know. Like you a lot of people got shit canned for no reason basically. I have no idea but somehow I slipped through the cracks.

I’m sceptical about the single player for GTA 6. All the big names that helped to create GTA V and RDR2 have since left Rockstar.
