In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, you play as Captain Titus, a Space Marine of the Ultramarines chapter and a seasoned veteran of countless battles. A million strong Ork horde has invaded an Imperial Forge World, one of the planet-sized factories where the war machines for humanity's never-ending battle for survival are created. Losing this planet is not an option, and be aware of the far more evil threat lurking large in the shadows of this world.

Note: This version of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is single-player only. Online multiplayer mode is not supported.

The original is still a fun time, although the sequel is superior in most respects. Both games are big, burly romps through a gallery of enemies that need to be shot, blown, up hacked and stabbed with aggressively chunky eighties sci-fi weapons.

Hack and slash? I remember it being a 3rd person shooter.

It's a 3rd person shooter where the hacking and slashing are necessary for gaining health back, if memory serves me right. Get in there, get aggressive, curbstomp a motherfucker and gain health back.

I'm just going by the description on the page. Maybe they just looked at the chainsword?

This version also seems to not be able to read save data, so it's more like a demo.
