This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

RULES

1 - Remember the human

2 - Link posts should come from a reputable source

3 - All opinions are allowed but discussion must be in good faith.

Why is it so barren here. I thought everyone hated the API changes?

Could it be the posting of links rather than discussion?

What's the point of Lemmy if there's no one here? It's so lonely...

Invite over people you think would add value. If they don't come they have other priorities perhaps. Some subscribe to the notion that if you got the message, put down the phone. Yet others like to watch the world burn. I think the message has still enough detail and complexity that I can't put the phone down, just yet.

Well - this sub is just for spreading misinformation. So its not the place to go for discourse. Lemmy isnt lonely, but the noise to Signal is high

There are not enough active members for discussion criticality.

Most people are insufficiently technical to understand federation. Nevermind to even know what an API is. Online engagement is constantly declining. Collapse is a fringe community on the fringe platform Lemmy. We could use a little more volume but only if that's not a quality tradeoff.
