I could be exploring all the mechanics that Fulgora and Gleba have to offer. I've researched both planets and have a spaceship ready to take me there in a couple minutes. But nooooo... I instead want to utilize the insane scale of everything on Vulcanus to build rail networks to bring my SPM to the moon!

First, I want red, green, blue, and purple science to get unlimited mining productivity! But yellow science for enhanced military power sounds nice for medium demolishers, behemoth biters, and the Gleba enemies... And since I already have yellow science, I can easily expand to space science... And wait, I also can make Metallurgic science as well!

Completely agree, it is the most broken planet by far.

What do you produce on vulcanus?

Apart from green belts, miners and foundries

[–] PigStyle 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Almost Everything

Foundries make all iron and copper intermediates. Coal liquefaction for all oil intermediates. Water from the acid. And everything else is easy when you have all of that.

Thing is, nauvis is only needed for uranium and eggs, you can make every thing else on any one of the first 3 planets.

I even make all science except planet specific ones on volcanus.

But I don't want to ship tons of shit to nauvis. So I make everything there, it's not expensive with foundries and electromagnetic plants. So getting free ore on vulcanus isn't even a big thing.

Only ship science to nauvis

I want to get EM plant before I go wild on Vulcanus. After seeing what big miner and foundry can do, it seems to me like a waste to use assemblers for circuits.

It was initially slow-going (but what new planet isn't?). Once you get going, it's tons of fun!

I spend all my time on nauvis even though I already have small bases on all planets but aquilo

Vulcanus is good, for sure. One question: is it just the gods of random being nasty, or there is always not enough coal there? Killed all the small worms around, and a small patch of coal i had at the starter location is the only one. Can import it of course, but that is not convenient.

[–] Deestan 2 points 3 weeks ago

That sounds like bad luck. I was far from drowning in coal, but had a few small patches in small demolisher territories.

Near endgame now, and switched half-ish to importing. It gets a lot more practical to import with the right tech.

It took me taking over a few small demolishers to find a good coal patch.

I recommend you go to other planets and go hard with mining productivity research and production modules for anything based on coal. Don't forget to use the Big Mining Drills, especially qualitied ones!

[–] Bloodyhog 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Am using the big ones, of course.Do you mean the productivity modules for them? The issue is that i have only 500k of coal to start with (

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yep, use productivity modules for them and everything based on coal, like plastic, oil, etc.

[–] Bloodyhog 6 points 3 weeks ago

...and then I realised that there was still one small worm I did not kill, and there is a 8m coal patch in the corner of his territory. Hooray!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Agreed, vulcanus goated (after mech armour and cliffies)

[–] prostagma 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

How do you kill the medium demolishers?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

Two nukes to the head did it for me.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

I imported a tank with uranium shells, worked pretty well. I have a friend who does an army of turrets with red ammo on the smalls, but I'm not sure if that scales too well.

Fulgora for quality is where you really break the game, Vulcanus just provides whatever base items we need.
