The identity of the future coach of Paris Saint-Germain remains a mystery. But for several weeks now, it has been no secret that the capital club have been pursuing a number of leads to take over from Christophe Galtier, who will not be retained after a disappointing season on the Parisian bench.

Sérgio Conceição is the latest name to be mooted as a possible successor for next season. According to our reports, confirming those of RMC Sport and journalist Abdellah Boulma, contacts between PSG and the Portuguese coach, already in place, have been stepped up in recent hours.

This trend coincides with a report in the daily L'Équipe that Julian Nagelsmann, who has been in talks with the Paris club for several weeks, is not the future Paris coach.

According to the same reports, Conceição, who is under contract at FC Porto until 2024, has a €18m release clause. Conceição, who has been at the helm of the Dragões since 2017, has been considering leaving the club in recent months, according to reports in the Portuguese press.

The Portuguese coach's name had already been mooted last season as a possible successor to Mauricio Pochettino. Represented by Jorge Mendes, an agent very close to the capital club (he manages the interests of Danilo Pereira, Vitinha, Renato Sanches and El Chadaille Bitshiabu in particular), he is also highly regarded by Luis Campos, PSG's football advisor. The Portuguese coach is already familiar with Ligue 1, having managed FC Nantes between 2016 and 2017.

Following in the footsteps of Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso and Luis Enrique, his name has now been added to the list of coaches being mooted to breathe new life into Paris Saint-Germain.

Have been out of football related rumours for a bit due to the whole reddit shenanigans.

Does anyone know what kind of football he plays? I'm guessing he's going to face the same issue as the previous coaches at PSG have faced around over-inflated egos of most players.
