Hi! Thanks for making this. I love all things to do with expanding our understaning of our minds and reality itself.

I've been into this stuff for a while and it's sort of become a lifestyle. I look forward to chatting with like minded people. Perhaps we can figure this life thing out just a little bit more together.

Have you tried guides to AP? There's a lot of information out there.

Yes, but not AP specifically in a while. I've been practicing my own little homebrew method for about 18 yrs, I think I have it down to a science, or alchemy really. Lol.

I have my reiki certificates though. The only meaningful education I completed past high school, and even that felt limiting, at least the way it was presented to me. I have my own little home brew for that as well, but it's all really the same stuff ime.

If you have a link to the good shit, please share. I'll check it out for sure. And I love talking about this stuff and hearing others experiences with it.

I'd recommend the book:

Hacking the Out of Body Experience: Leveraging Science to Induce OBEs by Robert Peterson

This is a short book with very practical information on how to AP - he takes the various techniques by different people and jams it together as very succinct information.

There are lots of guides out there as well, of course.

Nice to be here, I am new to Lemmy and new to Astral Projection. I have been attempting for the past few weeks and reading up as much as I can on different methods and astral experiences. I'm interested in learning as much as I can about this phenomena and integrating it into my life as a means of overcoming my fear of death and understanding more about our purpose here.

Which guides have you tried?

Hello,

Do you mean which guides to Astral Projection?

I read The Illusion of Method by Mark Gurriaran. I'm currently also looking at his second book, Astral Projection without tears but it seems like it may just go over the same ideas as the first. He mentions a number of different of methods only to arrive at the conclusion that achieving AP is not an act of conscious will but simply about setting an intention to do so and being open to it occurring.

I haven't been successful yet, whether by trying a few of the traditional methods or the "No Method" method. I find that my feelings of expectancy and anxiety about it actually happening tend to hold me back. I'm also not sure if the feelings I have gotten so far when I seemed closer to achieving something were real signals or just my subconscious creating it's idea of what exit signals would feel like.

Yes, that "no method" sounds intriguing - would be interesting to make a poll which one is the "best" to use.
