Hey look, it's the "keep ideology out of schools" crowd pushing their depraved ideology.

It is fine for them when it is a right wing one.

Are they TRYING to become some sort of parody of themselves?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago

It's deadly serious to them.

become some sort of parody

Hate to tell you this friend, they hit parody status years ago when the party of family values had a leader that cheated on his dying wife.

Nothing says education like topics that will make your students stand and boo you directly in your own classroom.

A variety of reasons.

People tend to believe that others around them are more conservative than they are. This extends to politicians, who believe that their constituents are more conservative than they really are. It also impacts individuals, who will say that they are conservative until they are given a list of policies to rank...at which point most people want pretty much the same thing - for the government to stay out, for them to be able to do whatever they want, and for taxes to pay for the stuff we all use. Which is exactly the opposite of what "conservatives" put forth in legislation.

So it's a perfect storm of over anticipating the conservative lean, which in turn reduces the number of people willing to speak up to correct the lens, which allows shitty policies to go largely unchallenged.

Florida students — good luck getting a job outside of Florida.

Shit this is Florida, good luck if they make it to job-having-age :(

I suppose kids who want to, and work at it, can overcome almost any adversity, but it's breathtaking to intentionally teach children to be stupid.

They aren't teaching, they are incolcating a sense intolerance, bigotry and anti-intellectualism. That's going to be damn hard to over come.

An unaccredited and biased source for children's education, that's awful.

An unaccredited conservative non-profit organization known for its anti-immigration theories and downplaying of systemic racism

Far worse than I imagined 💀

Yeah - it's an extreme right guy's Youtube channel. Not an educational institution like the "U" implies.

That’s dysentery.
