Explanation: After Sulla overthrew the legitimate (if scummy) Roman government over an issue of assigned political offices and left to do conquest in Asia Minor, his enemies retook the Roman government and began executing his partisans. Sulla returned to overthrow the government a second time. Of course, he was no liberator, and this time butchered supporters of the poor and seized their property, followed by being declared dictator and stripping the democratic institutions of the Republic to the bone.
