Say what you like about The Penguin (namely, that it's a bit silly and hard-to-believe at times), but it's certainly got no problems with killing off it cast. Established actors, recognisable from other shows, and then BAM! - dead after only a few eps.

That was exactly my thought when they stabbed Clancy Brown (Salvatore). Glad to see he was the survivor, but at the cost of killing off all the other known actors. (Also speaking of hard-to-believe, Nadia Maroni went up in flames quickly.)

Penguin Lair!

Seeing Oz so down on his luck, I'm glad to see him with a new home/base of operations.

Also Oz's mother is a great character (and actress). Loves her son, but also mean, but also encouraging, but also sick. We look at someone like Nadia Maroni, running the family while Sal is in jail. We see Sophia, taking over the family. And then we have Frances Cobb, a woman who could be their equals. She has that same drive, that same level of ruthlessness. Obviously she's sick, and couldn't actually do it, but it's there.

I hope she survives this series. I don't think she will, but it would be great to keep her around.
