Rules:

  1. Follow Lemmy's Code of Conduct.
  2. Remain on-topic. Worldbuilding contains many areas of interest, so, when in doubt, explain how your contribution fits within worldbuilding.
  3. Give context in the comments of your post. This will help your audience engage with your creation and encourage interaction.
  4. Tag posts as NSFW if they contain images or discussion of extreme violence or explicit sexuality.
  5. Advertising should not disrupt the community. Self-promotion of projects related to worldbuilding are fine. However, you must be willing to engage with your audience.
  6. Love each other. There's a human on the other side of your screen, so treat them with respect.

In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using it? Here's mine:

Pro: Using a reasoning model, I can feed my notes and allow the LLM detect patterns I otherwise might have missed.

Con: Consistently using AI outputs as-is could make your project formulaic and generic—something you don't want if you want a certain facet of your lore to stand out.

It can make it dry and without substance. If you need help, ask for advice. Don't rely on a computer for creativity.

Pros: Can immediately suggest an alternate idea that was otherwise unexpected or could not be spurred by creative means. It gives invaluable help when dealing with writer's block.

Cons: When relied upon solely or in great amounts, can easily make the writer dependent, predictable and lazy in the creative process.
