After Speaker Johnson said on Meet the Press he would certify a “free and fair” election, former Rep. Liz Cheney says she does not have faith Johnson would certify the results.

I feel like that strategy would be less useful this time around. If they’re going to do anything, they’ll do it on or around election day to screw up vote counting or give themselves a chance to stuff ballots. If they delay certification, that just puts the ball in Biden’s court. Maybe just casting doubt on the results is an end unto itself, but it doesn’t seem to benefit Trump as much.

They’ll take any excuse to kick it up to the Supreme Court, who are more than ready to hand it to them like in 2000. All they need is enough chaos, doubt, and “irregularities.”
