1. Relation to legacy jailbreaking

• This community is centered around collecting and jailbreaking iOS devices on iOS versions considered to be legacy
• Legacy is officially defined as being one iOS version prior (iOS 11) to the earliest deployable target (iOS 12) in the latest version of Xcode (15)
• For iOS versions above iOS 11, direct your submission to our affiliate https://lemmy.ml/c/jailbreak.

2. Be kind and follow netiquette

• Do not harass, antagonize, or purposefully offend other members
• This includes, but is not limited to: usage of slurs; being overly vulgar; giving intentional bad advice; sharing fake/harmful tools
• Please check out Reddit's Reddiquette and the instance rules for more examples.

3. Piracy and Copyright Infringement

• Submissions containing, or discussing, piracy or copyright infringement are not allowed
• Piracy includes, but is not limited to: programs distributing pirated, or infringed, material (e.g., 3uTools); repositories hosting pirated packages; distributing paid apps, or in-app purchases; Apple Internal software
• Submissions regarding DRM removal of personal purchases are allowed in accordance with the laws in which you reside; however, sharing of such DRM-stripped material is not allowed

4. Third-Party Apps

• Submissions regarding compatibility of specific apps are allowed, but submissions, and requests, of third-party apps are not and should be directed to iPhoneOS Obscura or to Archive.org
• To download the latest compatible app from your purchase history, use the tweak "Checkmate, Store" from here: https://cydia.invoxiplaygames.uk/
• To download popular free apps verified for legacy iOS versions, use the Momentum Store.

5. iCloud Activation Lock and Passcodes

• Submissions regarding bypassing, or removal, of iCloud Activation Lock, passcodes, or disabled devices, are not allowed
• Visit Apple’s Support Articles on how to remove them—if you are the original owner, or related, you may provide proof of purchase to request official removals: Activation Lock: https://support.apple.com/HT201441 Passcode, or disabled: https://support.apple.com/HT204306
• Submissions regarding hacktivation, or bypassing SIM activation, of iPhone 3GS and older are allowed

6. Submissions

• Submissions must follow the requirements described when creating a post; i.e., having a [tag] and a matching flair
• Submissions under Fluff may only be posted over the weekend from 12:00 AM EST Saturday and ending at 11:59 PM EST Sunday. Posts are still required to be in relation to legacy jailbreaking.

7. Content Not Allowed

• Submissions deemed misinformation, low-effort, or spam, such as photos of devices, may be removed and are more relevant in other communities such as https://lemmy.ml/c/iii
• Submissions regarding self-promotion are allowed, but subject to approval
• Submissions regarding the purchase, or sale, of devices are not allowed
• Submissions containing material considered "Not safe for work," or "Not safe for life" are not allowed
