His plan is seriously to entirely jettison the entire Twitter brand and logo?

Seems like, yes. He also presented a short preview what it could look like: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1682978324375543808

Bye Bye Tweeting

X probably stands for the idea of his “everything app”.

He’s been using the X name since around the early PayPal days, at least 20 years. It seems like it’s a variable that stands for “whatever Elon thinks is cool currently”.

It really seems to be X, because x.com already points to twitter.

So generic. Looks like the logo for a new wrestling federation.

He says a lot of things and immediately tries backtracking. I wonder whether this is one of those times, and what the reaction will be. Personally, idgaf.

Lol changing the logo to the symbol to ‘close the app’

That's a great idea. If you click the x on an ad to close it, you will now tweet about it.

if you are on an lemmy app like Voyager you can filter words. I dont know about other apps like liftoff, not really a feature i use. It sounds at least helpful for you

Thanks! I didn't know any of the apps had keyword filtering already
