Memmy makes it really easy to switch. I’m still trying to figure out what default view and sort I prefer. Not finding it makes a whole lot of difference at the moment.
And Kingston needs a real IKEA. :)
old.reddit.com/r/KingstonOntario lives on now on lemmy.ca

Haven't tried Mlem yet but Memmy is pretty awesome! And there are still more to come…
I think in terms of getting Reddit people over here, the best thing we can do at this point is to post a lot of interesting content? Give them a reason to be here.
Reddit was once the underdog to digg. I remember those days. You need people on the new platform punching above their weight for awhile. Like posting/commenting and not just lurking to get some energy going until you reach a kind of critical mass? I want !kingston_ontario to succeed so I'm doing what I can personally.
I mean what are we at now? Nearly 100 subscribers. That's not too shabby for a community that's only been around for a month.
Memmy is beautifully designed, but I like Mlem a lot too. I’m going to keep both for awhile and see which one wins out. I confess to being a Reddit lurker and the third party apps always allowed me a way to seek useful information on the platform while sending a minimal amount of data back to the company. After all the recent API drama, I realized that I have to practice what I preach and try to be more than a lurker on platforms that I genuinely feel are better for our world and protect our personal safety/agency as citizens of the net. 100 subscribers is amazing and I hope to continue to play my small part to help the community grow. I tip my hat to you!
I won't touch another Apple product after the BS I had creating an account just to just the Apple TV 4k
Couldn't use the box for over a month because Apple can't tell their asses from their elbows
Jebora is my favorite Lemmy app myself
