So Signal has stories but I can't figure out what it would be for.

Me either. This seems to be a feature that no one asked for.

Seriously. They could add some other great features and they had to go with stories. I love Signal and use it but the addition of stories was a head scratcher.

IMO, Telegram should take some inspiration from Discord. My friend group (dozens of us!) have a main chat, gaming, tech, etc. all separate chats that people choose to participate in. Would be cool to have some sort of channels feature so you could be invite into the main hub, and from there choose what want to be a part of, or not.

According to signal that's what everyone wanted and sms was a small fringe.

I’m in the minority I suppose but I really love stories on Signal. I have a lot of friends/family on there and it’s a good way to keep in touch without having to force a notification or expect a response on their end. Maybe it’s a cultural thing too

I agree, that is a good use case for stories.

I have one person I know on Signal, and zero people I know who use stories outside of Instagram.

Dear app developers:

STOP ADDING STORIES TO SHIT

This irritates me to no goddamn end. I do not want vertical short-form video shoved in my face in every. app. I. use.

I’m sure you can see them just like all the other premium features that others use. You just can’t use them. How would you incentivize it if no one can see it except the people paying for it?

Yeah I miss read the headline, lol 🤦‍♂️

All my "real contacts" (meaning people I know in person) are on WhatsApp and I struggle to watch their stories there, I can't see myself using this feature on TG since nobody I know here actually uses it but my gf.

And funnily enough I read that Meta is getting rid of such a feature on WhatsApp, although I'm not sure if this is only a clic bait.

That would be the reason for not buying the subscription. What is the point of those?

It reminds me of Nicegram, an iOS client for Telegram. Recently, they've been pushing some AI chatbot bullshit really hard. First of all I'm not interested, second it's behind a paywall. Who cares? Stop bloating up your services, people. Nobody likes it.

I wonder why every social media app decided they needed stories. It was cool and novel on Snapchat but then everyone decided they needed to copy Snapchat, lol.

Just what everyone’s been waiting for
