Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

Was the pan's edge serrated, or is the image pixelated?
A pan with a cutting edge sounds useful, but I imagine there was no shortage of knives in a marching army. Maybe it was considered a bad idea to dull your fighting knife on food?
Pixelated, I think, since it doesn't look serrated in the folded position.
